Aftermarket guage inserts
I've been thinking about putting in new aftermarket guages in my 63. I've seen all the billet inserts for this, but I don't really care for the billet look or the cost. Is there anything else out there a guy can buy off the shelf? Or can my stock dash be modified to fit these guages? Cost as always is an issue, but I'm just wondering what other options I have for now.

Some folks take out the gauge cluster and all - then put a flat piece of metal in there - where the plastic 'lens' is now - not sure how they connect it, I 'spose they weld it to that metal frame part that the switches are on or set it up the same way the gauge cluster is done - they cut the holes they want for the gauges they decide to install... put them where they want them. Then I guess you could just power coat it or paint it.
