just click on the word "HERE" in my post above. It should take you straight to it. It's a 5 page thread, so it might take several minutes to pop up if you're on dial up connection.

You might be able to use an extended cab frame I'm no expert, but I'm just looking at gaining 8-10 inches.

Ok just pick up a good 88 chev S10 longbed rolling chassis. It has disc brakes front and drum rear. The cab was already removed and the frame cleaned. Hope to start the swap soon. I also found a 327 block for a hundred bucks and a set of 202 double hump 327 heads for 150. Does anyone have any ideal what would be a good auto trans for the 327. I am going to build it to be dependable more so then fast. Maybe 350 - 400 HP

I would prolly use a 350 turbo, unless you plan on stretching it out at every light.Shouldn't have a problem with it.

I just looked up a swap kit and it doesn't list a crossmember in the kit,I am assuming the original will work, may have to modify it or something,I don't know.

I am curently doing the swap. Yesterday I shortened a 83 extended cab s10 from 122" to 116" at the factory lap(where the front section and rear section are joined). After i welded it back it didnt seem all that hard. Tommorrow i am gonna fab body mounts. I didnt take any pics of the frame before but i can post some of the weld now if any one is interested. as for the question of the tranny mount it seems to be around 4 inches to far forward but i wont be there till next week.ill keep you guys updated.
