tranny swap

I have an 85 Chevy w/305 and th350. I can get a 700r4 out of a 89 Astrovan. All I should need is the wiring harness for the lockup converter, everything else can be reused right?

if the astrovan is a V6 don't use it, it has alot smaller and weaker internal parts, get one out of something with a gas V8, i've had camero and truck 700R4s and internally there are some slight differnces between the abuse valve and acumilator and thats about it, you will also need a longer drive shaft a i belive, plus a braket for the TV cable

I think the edelbrock 1406 already has a bracket for the cables, but I will check. Thanks for the warning about the trans. I will check to see what kind of motor it has and if they have any others.
