What about these seats?

What do you think about these seats? I have a chance to get some like these from a guy and was thinking about them. If I can get them cheap enough from him (haven't gotten price from him yet) I would later get them recovered in my interior color I'll do and add a console like Swervin did. Something more user friendly than the Tahoe style this truck has in the pic.

I think those side bolsters would bother me and become annyoing. IMO, one would have to awfully thin to sit in those seats for an extended period of time.

Actually I sat in them in the truck and they're tight but that was before the weight loss Now I can fit in them better for sure LOL!! The seats are out of a roomy car and are bigger than you think.

i actually have hmmwv seat that are like that and i spend quit a bit of time in it (i made my computer chair from a bucket seat out of a hmmwv, it has the side bolsters on it as well) and it fairly comfy, only thing i dont like is its not adjustable as far as the back, though it could probably be made to do that.. if i could make them adjustable i could put 2 of these my truck (well except for the fact i need the bench seat).. actually my seats would work great in a jeep!

back on topic... B.. those look nice and i think they would work great!

Jon- You mentioned the problem of those you have not being adjustable. Luckily the driver side has power options on it.

Eric- If I get these other seats and mounted up you can have my seats I have in my truck now.

B, i dont see a problem with them at all. they're similar to the ones my dad has in his '99 Silverado, VERY comfotrable. as Jeff said, smaller guys may find them a bit big, just as my dad does. but for those of us built on larger chassis they're about perfect.

What are those out of? Look like Taurus SHO or T bird SC seats. If so, they are very comfortable.

The owner said they came out of a Taurus SHO and had them reupholstered and added the logo.

Make sure the seats will fit the geometry of your floor board. I have just ran into that problem when I tried to put a set of 2002 GMC truck seats in my 87 SWB. They just wouldnt fit without going through the trouble of hacking up the frame of the seats to make them fit. I decided against that and decide to try to find a set of OEM buckets.

Good point. I was thinking to see how they mounted with the mounts alone. The owner of the truck I have the pic of was a 67-72 truck and he said they almost bolted right in. If they don't fit I'll get the frame off them and mount them to the frame I have now with the aftermarket seats I have now.

I'm not sure how much he said it cost him to get reupholstered. Like others mentioned the console came from a newer Tahoe.

Those seats would look great and when the truck hit 1g on a tight turn you will still be in the seat!

You might think big side bolsters, or whatever you call them would make you feel crowded, but to me it's the exact opposite. I love my seats. They hold you in the seat, unlike our stock seats ever did. I love the feeling of not falling out of the seat when driving on curvy roads. And, they are real comfortabale to me.

i hate that.

i'm out trying to have a spirited drive, i come up to a nice curvy area in the road, the truck takes the curve pretty well, but i fly all around the cab

That center console looks like a 95-99 obs Tahoe/Burb/Yukon console, should be able to get one on ebay or local scrap yard......it does look good doesnt it.

Yep, you are correct. 95-99 GM SUV center console. It looks good and is very functional too. It has a dual cup holder up front, and the flap on the lid folds over to be used as a note pad holder. It also makes a pretty nice portable dining table for meals on the go....

Don't forget the cup holder in the back. I had that same console in the 83, basically bolted straight in.
