hood sticking
I have a 85 suburban and the hood does not pop up when I pull on the cable, I have to go out and smack the top of the hood and it pops up. I want to buy a new steel cowl hood but I'm no tgoing to spend that kind of money just to have to go out and hit it to open the hood. I had a 90 that did the same thing. I tried to adjust it but there is not much of an adjustment. Do I need a new cable and latch or what? Any help would be great. Thanks

it very well may simply be the adjustment. especially if you got a burban the hood is totally adjustable to go as far as not closing at all. it is too far back or to close to the front. check the margin if they are the same on both sides check the front to see if it is exactly the same as the fender on both sides. this is all only if you already tried the last post of lubing up the hood latch on the truck itself. im 90% sure its adjustment if all of the latch springs are there and its lubed. i like the hanging up hood tho, cause thats how you open the hood of a beast!! there are a lot of bolts on the overlapping hinges on each side..you need a helper to hold up the other side while you only loosen the bolts (okok overexplaining i know ...hmmmm)
