Fuel Cell's: What to do with the vent fitting?
You guys that have swapped in a fuel cell, what did you do with the vent fitting? Did you run a line from it to your charcoal canister...or what?

You can use the charcoal canister, on my chevelle I just ran a line up above the tank top & curled the line(like a phone cord) so the gas wouldnt slosh out of it...

if you plan to race your truck any at the strip you need to install a rollover valve in the vent(not cheap, $32 last time i bought one).

if its aluminum cell it has a rolover valve in it just put a fitting and hose going down to nothing if its plastic put a vent in it and call it a day mine is aluminum

My aluminum one has the rollover vent in it, but the gas smell is obnoxious.

here's mine.. i close the valve when parked to keep the gas fumes in the tank...

hey rat, can you get a better pic of the valve you close, i have a 16 gallon plastic tank in mine and when i open the bed cover its awful, hate to be smoking a cig and blow up the house.

problem is when in the sun the tank will swell if it has no where to vent the fumes.

man some people..... the valve is for parking in the garage !!!!! so you don't blow your family up.....not sitting outside in the sun... |
