brake lights

I have to change my brake light what is the number for that?

Also while I was looking at the brake light I noticed a small bulb on the outside of the housing but I could never get it to come on either side what is this?

Thanks

Duh, you are right.

Sidemarkers are technically required in all states...I think they became manditory in the late 60's.

If they are markers I assume they are not required since they look like they have been out for some time.

It never failed inspection as far as I know they always just check the brake lights.
Prolly because they knid of light up with the regular light in the middle I never knew they were there.

Marker lights get missed during inspections all the time. No biggie.

And to answer your question. Brake lights are #1157.

GM used #2057 in the trucks...it's the heavy duty version of the #1157. Either one will work. Side marker is a #168.

168's are 3 cp. 194's are 2 cp. That roughly a 49.999999999999 % increase in lightbulb light output.
