Progress pics!!! One big hurdle leaped!
Got the frame shortned last night. Finished stripping everything off of it tonight, just finished a few minutes ago. I just need to finish grinding the welds, then weld in the fish plates on the inside of the rails, then it's off to the sand blasters on Monday. Gonna give it a good hot pressure wash before I take it to him. Want to keep him on my good side
When it comes back, I'll do the C-notch, box-in a few places, and then start prepping for the finish (still undetermined). Once the frame is done, I need to finish the cab. Then I can fit all the new body parts, test-assemble the truck, then tear down and let the fun begin!!! Enjoy!

no one ever said that being anal was a bad thing. what ever gave you the idea to cut the frame that way? i have only seen them with just a vertical cut and a diagonal cut. your way looks more supportive.

That's probably the best job I've ever seen of shortening a frame.
I assume you used that big Miller mig welder in the corner?

Are you going to fish plate it for additional strength? I am going to do the same thing to my spare 72 lwb frame.
