Looking for a soft cover for the bed of my '87 r10 swb. any recommendations? any brands to stay away from?

Ive heard a nice large sheet of cardboard, some ducktape and zipties do wonder for freeway MPG!

actually Gaylords are quite nice. my buddy had one on his truck. Kinda pricey though.

I have a Tekstyle on my truck and am very happy with it. Summit sells them for just over 200 bones. They clamp on (no holes to drill), and have their sliding snap system..so the cover always stays tight and snaps on easily. Check them out.

I go with the Extang cover. Easy to use and they warranty all of their parts. We have them on more than one year of truck. I also have a SNUGLID from Snugtop on an 84 GMC truck. Good investment for a truck that travels alot. The soft cover works better for hauling big thngs. Winter time is a little different with any soft top. Once you unsnap it, you should heat it again to replace over the bed. It shrinks in the cold. I just don't re-install until I am in the garage with a quartz lamp in the truck bed to heat the vinyl.

I have a TekStyle on my truck. I like it. Very good quality of the buttons and frame. The rail ends that reach into the frame suck though. Overall I'm happy with it. Bought it of ebay nearly new.

I also have a Extang on my other truck. I'll take the TekStyle over the Extang any day.

i have an Extang cover as well. it's nice & looks good. only thing that is a drag is putting it back on when it's cold out but otherwise it's really sweet

I should note mine is a TekSport. The profile is lower than other models.Checkout this info.

There's always ads in Truckin' magazine for Checkmate covers. They're a flush mount hard cover and they're REALLY good price wise. Under $400 bucks.
