Angry problems w/botboy

just thought i'd let the powers that be know that botboy still owes me money and parts. i know we have been thru this before with him. how many other members have settled their claims with this guy? i have not and he is once again refusing to respond to all attempts at communication. i am "writing" off what he owes me but will not forget it nor will i let the board forget it. my opinion and experience is for anyone who is thinking about doing business with this guy to instead go outside and throw their money into the wind. it will have been better spent. sorry about the rant but i feel a little better.

You know i'm totally for someone visiting him, seriously though i know we're all mad at him, as i also am out $70US, but it needs to be done in a very professional method and someone need to collect either everyones parts or money and sort it all out. I'd be willing to pay someone money on top of what i've paid, to get either parts or money back! Sh!t at this rate i think if anyone can get my $70US they can have it!! I'm past this but not forgotten it!

It is a great pleasure to be a member of this board and to conduct honest business with everyone!

The larger this board gets, The more of these kind of problems we're going to be facing and working against.
We had the same problem on one of my Radio Control boards. It has thousands of members, and a few of them are crooked, and that's what their intentions were from the beginning was to visit and rip people off.

You guys whom have been burnt by this guy need to ban together and get ahold of the fraud division and see what can be done. We need to set an example of a couple of these Jerks ( being Polite here with wording !)

Josh has done all he can by banning the Clown, Now Y'all need to go from here..

When you are going to buy from board member, Call them on the Phone and do a short discussion to see if they really exist, or are they 15 year old Kids.. There are also ascrow services that are available to the public, using them would also help stop this.

I sold a fender to a board member a while back, Or should I say we made a deal, He told me to check on shipping, and let him know.. I sent him an e-mail letting him know what the cost was. Never heard back from him at all, ( not by e-mail, PM, Or board post ) Not a That's too Much ! I've changed my Mind ! Or great, ship it !

I know through back post, That some of you guys take this as if you were burnt of money,, I don't. I still have the merchandise, and feel fortunate to still have my stuff, and not going after someone for money they owe me and I'll never see..
Being a sale, I'm not out anything so It's no big deal. "except " I had others asking about it, and I may have lost a sale with one of them.. but it could have worked out the other way also.

bot-boy

Yeah I'm still out also, no parts, no money, no comunication...
I'm going the mail fraud route, I paid him with a postal money order and as I understand it there's a fair amount of recourse to be taken.
According to those at the post office, mail fraud is a very big deal when using the governments money.
HOPE YOU SEE THIS bot-boy (who ever you are now)
You've used the gov's money to bag people, you've officially broken a federal law. So now the jokes on you.

i have had zero problems buying, selling, and trading on this board until this guy came along. i know the adminstrators josh and tx firefighter have responded well to the situation as well. like i stated i'm upset about getting the short end of the stick on a deal i entered into in good faith--as i know alot of other board members are as well. this is a great place for our hobby as we all know and there are jacka**es everywhere in life. when we run across these people who do this to us we should let others know about it so that others do not enter into a transaction with a known or suspected scammer. there are circumstances when a deal goes bad and it was neither partys fault--these are the deals where we should all be careful not to blame each other as long as the communication remains open and honest. i am a person who like many of us has made mistakes in my life and because of the way i think about things and the way i was raised i believe in giving people second and third or more chances to make things right because i have been fortunate enough to have kind and wise people grant me the same opportunity. some people may call this outlook gullability--which is a fair term of description only when you actually get screwed like this paticular board member has done to me and others. i like to think of it as fair and honest. i held out hope for this guy for months--even though the communication was suspect--hell i even stuck up for him on another post about these same issues. i knew it was an "iffy" situation. when he p'd me off though is after he finally agreed to try to make good on the deal (after almost 2 1/2 months) and send me a partial refund and the remaining parts i had paid in full for and he sent me a box full of JUNK with no money in it. in his last message to me he gave me a tracking# and said my parts were on there way and included was an envelope with a check in it. i'm just wanting other board members to know what has happened with dealings with this guy so they do not suffer the same fate that alot of us have. THIS IS THE ONLY BAD EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD ON THIS BOARD-I WILL NOT HESITATE TO CONTINUE TO ENJOY THIS HOBBY WITH OTHER BOARD MEMBERS BECUASE OF ONE BAD EXPERIENCE!

I did get my part..But it took way to long. I had to email him more than once. first he sent me a tracking number when I went to track it. For two days it said the same thing so I emailed him again and he said he didn't see anything wrong, But he used a different tracking number...
I'm glad I got the part if I had not I would only be out 35$ not a lot but still... I for one will not deal with him again if he is alowed to come back.

That stinks...
We should be careful about allowing discussion on here about "sending people after him". It might not be benefical to the situation to have that posted in the forum.

In another forum that I frequent, there is a section called "bad people to deal with". Self-explanitory.
I've lost some money to Smonty recently. There are other people that have too. It would be nice to have a designated place to discuss these issues and post info about theives but I don't want more work for Josh or the other mods.
I also agree that a bad experience with one person doesn't mean everyone is crooked. I've recently had some great deals with Hotrodhenryj, billsbowtie, PT'S 70 CST, 67sss, and MIDSTATE 67-72. Lots of good people on this board!

Try the REVIEW board. Good place to look before doing business with anyone, much less board members. You can also do reviews on good business deals.

Hey, I go to Iowa State maybe between the two of us we can track him down. Though he might of dropped out. There used to be a blazer on a street where some friends live. I belived it to be his but I haven't seen is for a while. Anyway I hope his actions haven't sullied your attitudes toward Iowa State University or of any college students.

I have an honest question.
If someone is banned and wants to come clean on here, how would they do it? Contact Josh I assume?
I know that he knows who you are and has your money and addresses. Just wondered about the baord.

if someone wants to come clean they should give people the parts or money they owe them. if one person remains that has parts or money owed to him/her it should be settled before that paticular board member can return. a way that it can be accomplised is to simply post a thread "does member "A" owe anyone any parts or money?" in other words let the board decide.
