1406 edelbrock problems
I have a fairly new 1406 on a Chev 350. I have developed a flat spot on acceleration. Right after idle it wants to bog. I took it apart and everything seems to be ok. Any ideas? Also, when I first press on the accelerator in the morning to set the chock I feel a fairly strong resistance than it snaps free and allows my foot to go to the floor, what could cause that? Thanks

Hey,
Fuel pressure regulator set at 4.5-5 psi is what you need. Edelbrock should start including them with carbs when they sell them. lata CHRIS

Ron; Did the carb work OK B4 this , if so I would check the timing , also make sure the linkage isn't binding, vacuum advance .

i have a 650cfm,i think a 1406 is a 600cfm?, edelbrock on a 350 and mine does the same thing when i try to slam it. it works fine under normal acceleration but when i hit it it will sometimes "bog down" it didnt do this when i first installed it a year ago, and i have a timing light and have checked the timing several times. at idle and hot engine temp i have it set at 6 degrees btdc.
sweetlandlong68, where did you install your regulator and where did you get it? Also, how did you know to set it at 4.5-5psi??

Setting it at 4.5-5psi was learned by talking to Edelbrock and just some trial and error. lata CHRIS
