possibly a different tail length? I don't know if that changes the crossmember location or not. Trucks came with the 6" tail. TH350's came in 6, 9 and 12" lengths.

I put a 700R4 in my truck and I had to move my crossmember back....I just unbolted it, slid it back, and drilled new holes....I mounted the tailshaft to the x-member and then took measurements for squareness before I drilled...good luck!
