http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Thats the link it looks pretty cool, chopped 3 inches, and then channeled 4 1/2. I'm thinkin about bidding on it but I dont like the front. We'll see how it gets up to.

Looks more like an el camino since its been chaneled and chopped so much. Throw a different Grille in there and ask me again. The IRS is kind of a strange setup. Need to see more pics of it.

Molded bumperettes? Thats really out there. He also mentions some of the cadillac and corvette parts, but he actually stole door handles off a geo storm?

I'm gonna go against the grain here, I actually like it (minus the front clip and dash board). It appears he wanted the front to look like a 70-something Buick Riviera. If you put a channeled stock front grill/clip on it it would look pretty good. This is the first chopped 73-87 I have seen where it look "right", of couse the channelling and apparent laid back windshield helps achieve the look.

I'm going to agree with Jeff on this one. I don't like what he did with the front end, but I see some potential with the rest of it. It would take a lot of work to finish it, but there is a TON of work already done.....

I like it alot except the front clip but that could be changed, and a stock channelled front installed and I think it would look great. I think I'm gonna try to buy it. It needs alot of work, but I've got alot of time just not alot of money lol.

I hate the front.
The windshield and the rest is hard to judge with that ugly front on there.

I think if the color was different, it would have a different appearance. The two-tone doesn't work for me on this ride; it not a good choice at that. If it were solid black or white, it would be prime for SiFi. Something out of MadMax or something Darth Vader or a StormTrooper would sport. ha! But seriously, I'd make it a solid color, suicide the doors and shave'em, tip the hood to open from the windshield, and cover the bed. That would have to be the only way to go to complement the appearance. It’s beyond the common Silverado, so it requires some thinking out of the box to make it right, IMO.

my $.02

Whether we like it or not is irrelevant. That's up to you. But I'd be REALLY careful buying something with that much custom work without knowing/trusting the quality of work done.

That said, I wouldn't do it, but when mine's finished, it'll look stock.

What about the elcamino? SSR? The truck in question more than likely won't haul anything in the bed anyhow...which is why top GM designers made the beds separate. Provided it was welded together, not bondoed, I don't see a problem there.

i do see a problem. this truck is not an El Camino, or an SSR. it was designed to have the bed seperate from the cab, welding them together will do nothing but cause problems. the cab is mounted on bushings, the bed is set directly on the frame, weld them together and throw in a little frame flex, and your precious custom truck is now a pile of scrap metal.

Your biography says "married to beer" and you are only 30 years old...kind of funny you would pick on other younger people (especially not knowing their age) and have a biography like that.

Jeremy, how do you know how the body on THIS truck is mounted? There apparently isn't much of it still stock, and it won't be used the way GM intended it to be used based on how it has been modified thus far. For all you know, it could be mounted on bushings all around. My statement was if it is built right, there shouldn't be any problems.

EDIT: I just re-read the item description, it has a hand fabricated frame...so all this stock GM talk can be forgotten since none of us can see how it is built.

Ok guys lets keep it civil.....

There is no doubt that the appearence is subjective, I won't argue that. What I will argue is the questions about the quality of the work. Even with the crappy pictures you can see whoever did the work spent a lot of time with details. Everything you see is rounded, molded, and smoothed over. This is not the sign of a lazy person that cuts corners. This is the sign of someone that pays big attention to details and doesn't cut corners.....
