Lifted 2wd 84 Silverado

Anyone seen a 2wd truck this high up in the front?

Looks really good to me. I would love to have my truck sit like that but a hair higher in the back to make it level with the front. Its a Diesel with a 700R4.

Yea I know what you mean . That truck looks great. If you get the info be sure to post it here. I have a long bed that I`d like to do that way . What really hits me on this .My truck is a 84 gmc red over white close to the pic here.

Back about 10 years I use to put these springs in the delta 88s and larger cars to raise the front ends up a ways . It was called the 409 spring I believe it was the heaviest spring and fit size for cars . So the car looked like he was pimping lol.

So I wonder if we used 3/4 ton springs on ours ??{coils }

I have installed HD coils springs on my truck. They are what the Big Block trucks and 3/4 tons have.





There are kits to raise the front 3in for about 1200.00 from Fabtech. There isn't really anyone else that has much for 2wd's for 73-87s.

That one just sits right and looks like exactly like how I want mine to sit. Its lifted but its not lifted to much and has decent height tires.

I don't have a pic but my old 76 GMC sat up that high and had big mud tires on it. It always shocked people to find out it was 2wd. Of course it didn't look half as good as that unit.

What type of lift do yo think it is - Fabtech? It says in the bio on it that its a 5-inch. Does anyone know what type the weld wheels are, the name?

Did you lift it or was it like that? There used to be more parts available to lift are year 2wd trucks now its only one that I would think about using (Fabtech).

I checked fabteck, they offer a 4" spindle, 3" performance, and two 7" packages to run 33's.

Those are for the 88+ years. Only thing for the 73-87 is the 3in lift, they used to have a 4in system also but I dont see it anymore.

There has been talk about moding the 88+ Lift spindles to work with the 73-87 stuff. But that is something that the buyer has to do himself/herself.

Check the tech articles there, it has 3 catagories for 73-87 trucks, 3" - 7".

Eyegore, thats not for our trucks... they only offer 3" lift coils for our trucks..

Yep, I know Dr. Lee Swanger, he's like the # 2 guy at www.thedieselpage.com

I've seen his truck and talked to him many times, as he's an inspiration to all of us diesel guys. He's got quite a hot rod diesel there, with propane AND nitrous injection!

Anyway, he actually fabbed the whole lift himself. He didn't buy any kit, but just fabricated the lift by hand. I don't recall all the details, but I'll see if I can find out more.

That would be very cool to find out how he did it. Looks killer for a 2wd Don't mean that in a bad way, just that you usually only see something like that when its a 4x4. Thought about joining thedieselpage but I don't have a diesel or the extra money for the membership.

It has resparked my motivation and that's a first for me.

74gmc, that kit will be fine, though you wont have any down travel, just a minor gain in up travel.
