What did you get done?
I worked this weekend and drove around in the nasty rainy weather fixing machines. I went to my 4 year old nephews birthday party and had a blast watching the little people at work.
After opening a few hundred gifts he set them all aside and played with a $3.00 "Bag of rubber snakes" that my wife gave him as decoration on top of his gift. That and a huge bag of acorns that his Grandpa gave him was his favorite toys. I did get to watch my daughters volleyball team have a terrible day on the court and still somehow manage to win their pool. What did you get done?

hey
i got the dual exahst on my 82 swb 2.5 with flowmater 40 series. Got the front and rear brakes all done. Headers bolted all together shocks, trans filter changed, rear axle welded up and drive shaft in, and wheels and tires on. The trans i believe is shot alot of metal shavings and looked like someone poured antiseize in there i was thick s**t man.

Did a tune up on the '79. New plugs, oil, trans fluid, filters, wires, etc. Found a few bad things while under there like an extra positive battery cable hangin loose? and duct tape around the center support for the axle. Also found an 8 track player and a jensen cassette player behind the seat. Gotta figure out if I can get one of them hooked up. And while trying to figure out what I plan on doin with the '80, my bro told me some guy from his work is comin over to look at its engine to see if he wants it for a project of his.

new alternator, thermostat, radiator, belts, and hoses on the dually yesterday. today i started cutting rust out.

changed my carb, fixed my steering column, tuned it up. she runs like a top. went to fire explorer meeting today and did some good training, next weekend the engine gets swapped. (changed the carb cuz the q-jet crapped out and it's my daily driver)

I put a 6 inch lift on the Burb and some temporary 33 inch tires along with the 3/4 ton axles I rebuilt with the rear disc brakes. In the process of doing this I ended up having the heavy @$$ 14 bolt fall on my knee and has hurt every since with a huge brused knot on the side of my leg. I guess that is what happens when there are about 6 of your buddies around but not helping at all.

Kiddie Birthday Party Weekend. Saturday went to one of my nephew's 1st birthday party in Queens, NY. While there had a chance to finally get around to exchanging x-mas presents for the kids. My brother and sister in law didn't look all too happy when my 4 year old nephew opened up his nice new 5 piece drum set. He promised to call me so I can hear him play over the phone. Then head back to PA.
Sunday had to go to my 4 year old Godson's birthday party. His parents didn't put any restrictions or demands on his presents, so he got a nice quiet bike.

waited around yesterday for a guy to come check out my 40s and my D60/14FF. looks like i may have a sale there, wont know until the first part of the week.
today i watched the race and did a tuneup on the 77. new plugs, wires, cap and rotor for now. im afraid to pull the drain plug because the oil pan is real rusty. i'm gonna pull the pan altogether when the weather breaks. did a general lookover on the whole thing to see what kind of condition everything is in on it, and at this point, everything is still solid. hopefully it stays that way until i can start the resto! |

well i got my 40's and H2 wheels on friday that i already made a post about. spent a few hours cleaning and painting the hubs for the 14 bolt. also went ahead and bought the rotors, calipers and brake lines. painted the rotors and calipers black. also finished up restoring a factory console out of an '80 k5 that will be going in the '80 when i get buckets.

my son and i built a console for my project,well i built and he handed me screws and kept running down the battery in the drill. hes only 7 so i guess hes still learning, lol.
will post pics of console after i tie up some loose ends.

I sold my brother's 72' vette for him. He isn't much of a computer user so I Ebayed it for him and helped him make an extra $3,000 on it. The guy came and got it today. Took my son and his son shooting clays for a little bit. Not much else. Great day all in all.

I actually worked on my Blazer some this week. I sold a set of 18" wheels that had been taking up space, and wound up taking a set of big n little rallys in trade. The rears are 15x10, with a 295/65 drag radial on them. They fill up the wheel well in all directions, but not so sure I will end up running them. The fronts are 15x6, and are waaaay too small for my taste. I am sure they will wind up on the parts board before too long, but the rears look really tough on my truck for the time being.
On Thursday, I traded my Mach 1 in on an '05 Chevy crew cab 1/2 ton. I haven't taken any pics as none of my other goodies have shown up yet. My wheels and such should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. It's white and tan, and seems like a really nice truck.

Changed the oil in the chevy, did a valve adjustment, and found a pinhole in the sidewall of one of it's brand new tires. Gonna take it to the local tire shop tommorow to see if there is any sort of warranty that can be applied, if not, I'm off to pep-boys on crack (Canadian Tire) to get a can of fix a flat. The tire has a good 50 000 kms left on it, so there is no point in tossing it if just needs a can of fix a flat once every couple of months.

The way it works is to pump by can in to tire and drive it for 15 mins or so and the gravity slings the crap to the center of the tire and working its way out and pluging the hole for a short time till you get to a repair place. |

The hole is like one that'd appear from a pin being poked through the sidewall, it'll hold air for over 3 weeks, just slowly looses it over time. I figure fix a flat would be fine in this application, plug that tiny little hole. It it was something that was gonna explode on me, I'd replace it

I managed to do a little cleaning in the garage and remove the front clip on my 73 and put the hood back on my burb so no water would get into the intake. And then I power washed the chassis and now I think I've made the decision to use the other chassis I have that is already painted but I will have to switch the entire rear suspension.
Today I didn't do much of anything today. I was planning on grinding off the rivets of the rear suspension and hopefully switching those today but weather didn't cooperate so I took a load of lumber down the street to my buddy's house and got started on his workbench we've been planning for a few weeks now. It doesn't sound like much, but its mroe progress than I've made in a long time.

Yard work. It sucked and I'm not done yet but the front yard is looking a lot better. I hate ice storms. Leaf blower doesn't do much good with a million small sticks. I had to rake it all by hand and it took a lot longer than I thought, I haven't even started on the back yard yet and it's twice as big.

Put in a new temp sensor in the aircleaner so the thermac system works now. Also installed a new choke pulloff and managed to strip one of the taps on the carb while attaching it. It only screws about halfway in now, but the other screw is still good. I had to remove the EGR valve to get at the bottom screw and was surprised to find those fasteners were pretty much hand tight. I was also confused because it didn't look like the mount for the EGR was really allowing for the valve to do anything. The valve itself looked pretty shabby when I turned it over. Looked alot like an old car speaker with dry rot.
