rear axel question
Hi, I have a 71 GMC 3/4 4X4 with a single rear wheel axel...now my question...will a set of dual wheels fit in place of the single wheels? I tryed a dual wheel on and it fits but the back of the rim sits tight against the outside edge of the brake drum. The wheel seems to fit good otherwise just only tight against the outer brake drum. It's a flatbed so room under the truck for dual wheels isn't an issue. Thanks.

No the duallys have a spacer on the hub to deal with the 7" or so of backspacing of the dually rims. The rim mounting surface would not be sitting against the hub it's self.
Welcome to the board. Post some pics of your truck.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I added a spacer would the wheels fit? The wheels hit the drum just as the lugnuts are tighted down. The only other issue is the studs I have now are just long enough for the dual wheels but not long enough if I add a spacer.

You could ask for some duallie hubd and drum..that might be cheaper if you could get them without a large shipping cost. Ya Never know who's local and has something possibly.
