What's In Minneapolis???

Hi Folks,

My wife and I are heading on a little vacation next week, and driving down to Minneapolis, MN. While I'm willing to spend most of my time with her at IKEA and the Mall of America, I will likely need to do a little "Man-shopping" as well.

I was just wondering if there are any interesting tool/auto parts places I should make an attempt to visit? We will be staying in Bloomington - near the Mall. I am planning to make a trip to Harbour Freight Tools to see what they've got going on. I've been to the one in Fargo, ND but never to the Minneapolis one. I compare Harbour Freight to a store we have here in Canada called Princess Auto. The tools are definitely not Snap-on, but often they are good enough to do the job for the "backyard wrench".

So, do any of you have any interesting places to suggest? Thanks.

Maybe you can hook up with Jeff (BigBlock73) and jam a bit about 73-87 Trucks.

As Mitch said, I live near Minneapolis...I actually live in Coon Rapids, a northern suburb of Minneapolis. If you want to come on over to my house, I can show you Yeller and maybe we can grab a bite to eat or something. PM me if you are interested.

As far as "man" things to do. Head over to the Mall of America while you are at IKEA. There are several guy related stores there and of course, Hooters resturaunt & Silicon Speedway (NASCAR race game)!

If you can swing it (and your wife will put up with it), on your way down, visit Rohners junkyard in Wilmar...it is a huge yard with LOTS of old cars/truck in it. I am actually going there tomorrow to look for some misc interior pieces for my truck.

Downtowm Minneapolis is a fun area too, especially at night. Lots of bars, resturants, and the new Block E (movie theatre, 2 story arcade, food, etc.)

Thats all I can think of right now. Let me know if you want to meet up.
