clutch head screws
I need to remove the screws in the doors of my '57. It looks like a large clutch head, but I don't have anything that fits it. Does anyone know what they are?
John.

It is called a clutch head. You can pick up a screwdriver for it at most auto part stores, I know Napa had it. I believe it comes in 4 sizes.

OK. Must be the biggest one, because I have three in my screw driver kit and all were too small. There were four screws that hold the vent knobs in place that also looked like they were clutch head, but none of my drivers would fit them either. I removed them with vice grips.
I'll get the right tool for taking apart the doors. Thanks, John.

Chevy Duty sells a four-pack of those, John. And if you hunt around you can find the bits (like this). You might want to call your favourite store before you make the trip -- as you probably already know they aren't that easy to find...

There's a big swap meet here in Portland OR this weekend, I should be able to find what I need there (along with lots and lots of stuff I don't need )
Thanks for the help. John.

there's usually some for sale on ebay too. also do a google search for clutch head screwdrivers and you'll get some hits. $12-25 set of 4.
