A few pics of my project.
I'm in the process of doing a frame off on my 71 cheyenne cst. With the help
of my son-inlaw we did a conversion from a 2wd to a 4wd. Would have been easier to buy a 4wd frame to begin with but I just wanted to keep the frame with the original numbers to the truck. We also did a crossover steering on the truck and on all the steering and track bars we went with 1-1/4" solid stainless steel. Spent hours polishing these things but the end result was worth it. These are the wheels that I will be using. They are the weld scorpio 15x14 and with mickey t. baja claws. More pics. A pic of the bed . I had the bed coated with bed liner on top and bottom. I'm going with viper red on the truck and they did a color match with the bed liner. I'm very pleased with the job they did for me. The top plate for the springs was also made out of stainless and I will be installing polish caps to cover up the nuts. We used a later model dodge pitman arm with the crossover steering. LOL the long bolt you see in the bracket for the track bar will be changed out with a shorter one. |

Your attention to detail is simply amazing, and I thought that I went a little overboard. Keep up the great work.

i dont wanna come off sounding wrong but if you plan to take the truck offroad get rid of that header wrap when it gets wet it holds moisture in extremely well which will rot the headers very very quickly.

Thanks guys
GMC71K20, I went with a 8" lift from skyjacker. My son-inlaw [Steve]
works at a machine shop and he made all the steering bars and track bar. We used 3/4" left and right hand hiem joints on the bars for adjustments. This guy is a guru when it comes to suspension work and he has me to do all the grunt work. LOL 70 Short, This is the original bed floor for the truck. The truck came from Texas. The guy that bought it there came back to Ohio about six years ago where he plans on retiring near his family. I was lucky enough that he had all the paper work for the truck with the exception of the window sticker. The truck was bought from the Hudiburg-Jones Chevrolet, Inc. located in Amarillo, Texas. I wonder if the dealership is still in business? Glad everyone likes the progress so far. Thanks, Don |

Ah, red x's again
Pictures must be hosted at Geocities. Looks like somebody is running over their bandwidth limits every hour or two.

Thanks for reposting the pics. I use geocities image hosting site but it seems
that I need to get another site for images. I only have the pics shown here on their site. I don't know why they will not come up at times. Thanks again. Don |
