one thing You MUST change the lower control arm you cannot fit a 71 and new ball joint into a 66 arm.
I don't know if the control arms are different on a c20 than a c10 but if the upper will fit and the lower wont...then i think you should plan a trip to the junkyard. The lower ones are the easy ones to pull. Theres two small ubolts one near the back(towards cab) and then one up front(nearest the centrelink).

The reason the lower balljoints don't fit is because the hole in the control arm is too small. Get a disc brake control arm up to 1987 and you can do the swap.

lower A arm

Be extremely careful when you remove the lower A arm. The spring is just waiting to come flying out and WILL cause very serious injuries.

hey dude , just like jason said , there is NO way to install a 72 lower ball joint in a 66 lower control arm , you MUSt get a 71 - 87 lowercontrol arm to do the disc brake upgrade.
