have a decision to make- need opinions
I`m going to have $3,500-$4,000 in the next month or so. I`m either going to use the money to get my 68 on the road or buy a running truck. If I get my 68 on the road, it won`t be the way I want it but it will be driveable and would definately be more fun than it is now. I just know that if I got it running, I would`nt want to tear it down to do the paint and body later. If I bought another truck I could continiue to build my 68 the way I want but I risk buying a pile of crap that won`t be a reliable daily driver. I forgot to mention that either truck will be a daily driver. My 68 is in really good shape, just needs a drive train, some electrical, interier and other minor things. I can do all of the work myself but I jst can`t decide what to do. What do you guys think? Thanks

Me, I would spend the money on a drivetrain for the '68.

Thanks. Thats what I was thinking also but sometimes I don`t always see things clearly. I have 2 trannys already and my buddy has a great running 327 he wants $600 for. I think I could get it on the road under my budget if I just did what it needs to be driveable. Thanks again.

You should be able to buy a decent run arounder for at the least $600. Then spend a hundred or so in maintenace on what ya just bought and use whats left to buy some flowers and supper for the old lady and THEN put the rest into your truck. You asked for opinions, and thats my .02
