What's the best truck to restore (Poll).
I dont think I'll atempt a 67. Too many diffrent parts from the others, and not real fond of the small window.
Should I restore a SWB 2wd or a 4x4 SWB? Which of the two is harder to find (I live in the NW), and therefore deservs a dry space in the garage first? and what year? I cant decide. Help! Darren

Good to hear you're keeping away from the 67's (all the more chance I'll get one!). Personally I like 2wd's, but swb 4wd's are more rare. If you're going for rare, go 4x4.

Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4 is popular right now but I think any 67-72 restored is a gem any way you look at it. I personally like the 3/4 ton longbeds, big, tough and bad ass!

Well, not all 67's came with the small back window so look for one with the bid window option. Panoramic I believe is the option (I would have to go look at my glovebox to confirm). Aside from that, build whatever suits you. I like them all but am partial to the 67-68 front clip.
Best of luck to ya on your project, keep us posted and what you decide. ------------------ 67 SWB 4x4 - 396 BB / SM420 4 spd 8" lift / 15x14 Welds & 35X14.5 SSR's Grants Pass, OR

A frien of mine sold a orig. 72 4x4 Cheyenne Super, Small block, AC...with repainted Yellow/White orig. two-tone...for something like $12,500.00 back in '99. I always thought that was quite universally wanted. not quite a longhorn or SWB but quite desireable in the market, I think..

I gotta say a 72 custom short box stepside 4x4, at least that's what I picked out. restoration is currently on hold due to lack of funds and I can't bring myself to take it apart just yet, too much fun to drive.

My choice of all 67-72 made:
A 67 CST 2wd just like the first one listed in my profile, but, adding Tilt, Tach, Posi. and orig. red as color...and a short wide box.... all as original options... So, I'm assembling as if it were that exact orig. truck...yes I'm building a clone... If this is your first resto, and you plan on getting more trucks in the future, grab your checkbook and buy whatever style truck that is the cleanest and highest option truck that you can affored.

Anything 1972 or older. What kind? That's just a matter of preferrance. So what flavor do you like?
These are "real" trucks made with real metal. No matter which body style or year you choose, it will only increase in value. ------------------ 63 Impala*66 Chevelle SS*69 Chevelle*69 C10 Stepside*71 Cheyenne 20*72 Chevelle Parts for sale: http://www.angelfire.com/trek/mr409/items4sale.html

I must say 67 as well! I like the front clip and it is the only one with out the sidemarkers. I would upgrade to power steering, power disk brakes, tilt, tach, and a/c of course. I like the big window on a 67 though. I just basically described my project that I'm on right now. hehe Really any 67-72, 2 or 4X4 would be awesome!

Just make sure it is a longbed. Dont do those short looking thingies. Anything is fine. Everybody respects a restored truck whether or not it is a short, long or longhorn bed. Or you could do something different and take a 2 ton body with the extremely wide fenders and put it on a 1/2 ton frame and slam it to the ground. HMMMMM. wonder what that would look like?
