small block ?
jest bought a parts truck , has a 327 & they say its original , where do i look for the engine # 's . I jest don't rember were they are located, Thanks

If you are looking for the casting date then its found usually found on the rear ledge of the block on the passenger side
Once you get the casting date then you can check it on www.mortec.com which should be able to ID it for you. Hope this helps! Kenny

Or check the pad on the passanger side of motor up front by water pump it will have a code,that should get you close,or if all original pull a valve cover get date and casting,or intake,if you cant see on the back.BBC are real hard to see casting when installed but you have more room!
