so I got a set of utility buckets this weekend to replace my destroyed drivers side seat, The brackets don't bolt to the floor, they are about 3 inches to long for the stock holes. Are these maybe not the right seats? they look right. What should I do? Just drill the holes? can I swap brackets?

I have my seat out and need to get another one in, what are my options. thanks

Yes they are different. But you should have pre-drilled holes about 2-3 inches in back of the rear holes for the bucket seats. At least my Jimmy was pre-drilled for both buckets and utility buckets.

That's weird, I would think they made the tub all the same, able to install any and all factory options as it rolled down the line. It doesn't make sense they would make some tubs for buckets and others for utiltiy buckets. But I'm also finding out you cant ASSume anything, just got to check and re-check before buying, even from the same years sometimes.

71Jimmy, is their extra support in the floor for the second set of holes in your floor boards? my '69 doesn't have an extra set either. I've got some utility buckets for that truck too, but I haven't had a chance to see if the brackets are the same.

I was under the impression that the utility buckets bolted up in the same holes as the utility buckets. Maybe that is wrong. Are they blazer utility buckets? I have seen util buckets in panels before, maybe they were different?

Bouncy, I don't remember if there is extra support for the extra holes. It's been ahwile and I'm on the road right now so can't check.
The Jimmy just has two sets of the rear mounting holes for the back of the seat tracks. They are maybe 2" behind one another.
