SCORE!! I got a good deal today!
Well it turns out there is a guy where I work that has a brother who had a '70 C-10 shortbox. Well the guy ripped the truck down to nothing. I mean crossmembers out, frame stipped, etc. Well like many projects, he never went past that. So the guy at work gets it from the brother with hopes he might try and put it together. Well he has no time or the know how either.
So the guy at work now just bought a new house. So he has to move. He brought all the truck parts down to the shop to keep them in the compound for now. So today we worked a deal. I don't need any sheetmetal, but the lure of that shortbox was too much. I told him I'd buy the frame, trailing arms, springs, entire front suspension, power brake booster, power steering box & pump, and a 12 bolt rear end. Basically the entire rolling part of the truck from the frame down. So what did I pay? . . . . . . . . . . . . I got it all to the tune of $250. Canadian!! Thats like $35 US. Oh ya, I also got all the crossmembers for a wooden floored shortbox. The sheetmetal was pretty rough, so I didn't take any of it. So I guess maybe one day, the 3/4 ton will become a 1/2 ton shortbox. I you can bet your ass it will be sweet. Thanks for listening!!

The stupid part of it is that the truck was a complete truck, that had some rust in the panels. He used to drive it. So he gets it in his head that he is going to do a full resto on it.
I see that alot. People just don't understand how much work a full resto can be. They bite off more than they can chew, then abandon it. Much to my pleasure!
