K10 Don't sit level in the front
Hope this makes sense. The fornt axle on our 85 K10 swb does not sit level with the body no matter where it's parked. I have measured everything and the front drivers side sits about 2" lower than the passenger side. It waas this way with the factory springs and with new 4" light springs. We have also disconnected the front sway bar and nothing changed. My son thinks the frame is bent, but nothing appears to be misaligned on the body. Any thoughts?? Will look at or try anything. How's the rear, or better yet how do the left and right side measure up front to back? Is it 2" lower in the rear also? Does it seem like it's leaning while driving? What's the height of the body mounts? There are just off the top of my head. Any unusual tire wear?

My guess would be crooked body mounts. I know I had to do a ton of shimming on both my front clip, and my cab to get everything to sit straight. When I welded my front cab supports on, I didn't get them down all the way, and more so on one side than the other. It threw off my body alignment by a good inch on both sides. To make up for it, I had to shim the core support, and the lower side of the cab. After I finished, it all looks good and dandy though. No problems with the bumper being too low up front or anything, its all very straight and level

It is very common for Chevy 4x4 frames to get out of alinement ( not frame damage ) the way there made at the kick up area ( in frunt and rear of cab ) makes them kinda sag. You can check with 4 jack stands on the frame at the flat spot under the cab. Then measure the ends of the frame to the floor. Should be equal from side to side. The front drivers side frame rail on your truck will most likely be higher than the other side. Matt

Thanks, I will try to cover all here.
I measured the rear of the truck, side to side, the driver side is 1" lower than the passenger side. No wierd tire wear and the body mounts (rubber part) that I measured were the same from side to side. It appears the radiator support is about 1/2" higher on the passenger side due to the support bolt to the frame being missing. On using the 4 jack stands, do I need to put them under the 4 corners of the cab, then measure to the ground? Do the wheels have to be off the ground? Makes sense on what you're saying...but how do you correct the alignment if it is kicked up on the drivers side? It's my teenage son's truck, so I'm not sure how it drives. Greg

The wheels dont need to be off the ground, but most the weight needs to be off the tires. Ill try to make a drawing of how its done. I run a frame rack at work.

Its hard to explane, but what you have to do is find some thing to chain the truck down to. If you know some one with a body shop that would be great, they might have chains in the floor. You could use a steel beam 8' to 15' long. For the frunt wrap the frame in frunt of the stearing box with 3/8 chain to the floor or beam ( slite forword angle ) For the back you can wrap the chain at the end of the frame or the frunt spring hanger for the rear axel. With the chain at a rear word angle. Then useing a floor jack or bottel jack raise the frame up in the middle where the frunt cab mount is. It may take a few trys. For the back jack up at the rear cab mount
