question about trip odometer speedo
Hello, I have an 83 3/4t truck, well while looking for parts at the local pick and pull yard I found a suburban with the trip odometer speedo. I got the whole cluster with a quartz clock for $15.00! When I got home, I tried to reset the trip and it wouldn't , I cleaned it up and lubed it with white litho grease and it resets funny to me. Here is the question: On my jap cars, the trip odometer resets all numbers to zero with one push, this one resets to all numbers across the same( 777.7) then turning it will bring them down eventually getting to all zero's. (666.6) (555.5) (444.4) etc...... Is this right? I'm wanting to put this in my truck, but I don't like how it works. Any help?? David

Re: question about trip odometer speedo
I had a 91 Van that worked that way. It's a pain, but functions.

Re: question about trip odometer speedo
Yup, that's how they all used to work in GM vehicles. It's perfectly normal.

Re: question about trip odometer speedo
Thanks for the replies. I bought this cluster and was going to put the speedo in my cluster, but may just sell it on Ebay. I'm trying to decide....... David
