Greetings from southwest Virginia
Found the forum the other day , lots of usefull things . Working on a j cash special here , one peace at at time . It is mostley apart , cab from 69 or newer ( floor park brake ) 3/4 ton , must have been a gmc at one time . It has wire harness for the four head lights , going to use high beem plug for driving lights ( and its allready there ) . Had high hump but been cut down to flat floor ( still removable ) , sun roof and 5 cab marker lights tilt wheel from who knows ( w/ key on side ). Dont know what the brake booster from but it has more holes than needed . A arms and dics brakes from 78 1/2 ton , 283 engine thats need some tlc . Going back with new 67 fenders and inner fenders . Needing new radiator support .Frame is solid, had rear coils that has been changes to leaf . The bed is step side from around a 65 . When i had it titled at the local dmv , speedo showed fewer miles than before ( somemone could have changed it ) .
Just a couple questons - are parts innerchangable on older trucks and what do you thing about newer style step bed ( say like 94 ) on the 68 ? |

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi. Check out our FAQ submissions page, Index thread to find some really good reading.
Here's a link. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=157669 Check the Pictures forum for trucks with the newer model beds. If the wheel arches are made to match it looks ok.

Welcome to the board for California
In my personal opinion, I'm not to fond of the newer beds on older trucks. I would say stick with the correct year bed
