help with rotor issues
can someone help? im trying to put a set of corvette wheels on a 71 2wd 5 lug. i redrilled the rear axles to fit a 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern. does anybody know where i can get front rotors with a 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern. either new or from a doner car. tried from my 70 z28 but the spindle is to big.

Re: help with rotor issues
this wont help much if you already have wheels.......but, you can get Vette rallies in a 5 on 5 pattern to fit the truck (aftermarket). Try Wheel Vintiques, or summit racing....... L

Re: help with rotor issues
I have found there is one solution.. you can use a 1970 Imapla rotor which has the 4 3/4 bolt circle and is the same diameter and if I remember correctly uses the same bearings as the trucks. the big difference is the spindle on impala is shorter than the trucks, so you have to cut the truck spindle and rethread it. it is quite a bit of work to acheive the results.

Re: help with rotor issues
Some early 1/2 ton vans had a 4 3/4 bolt pattern and I think the same bearings.

Re: help with rotor issues
adapters from 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4" ---- you probably need adapters for spacing anyway

Re: help with rotor issues
If you swap to a 67-70 truck spindle, you can get a kit to convert to disc brakes using common car pcs. Ill try to find the link..... http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...k/6062DBK5.htm there may be a better way, but that is all i have seen.... L

Re: help with rotor issues
ya i dont want to go backwards to go forwards. i think im going to check with a machine shop to see if they can hone out the back of the rotor so it can be redrilled. thanks for all the different ideas.
