Throttle Linkage Ignorance
I'm finishing up the rebild of my '66 C-10 250 c.i. Tried to keep as much stock as possible, but with some drivability add-ons.....power steering,HEI ignition, etc. I had a lot of problems with the original Rochester B carb leaking, and from all I've read, that is pretty common. I didn't want to deal with that, so I asked around and found a carb guy who recommended a Carter YF, and he told me to make sure it was for a 250.
I could only find it for one year....1969 Chevy G10 van. I bought it, and have put it on, but the linkage is in a different spot than my original.I have to admit I'm really ignorant when it comes to picturing how bellcranks work. I understand the principles, but get lost in deciding which way they move the linkage, etc. If I send in some pics, is it possible for one of you to look at them and maybe make some recommendations? I thought about going to a Lokar cable, but then I lose a lot of that stock look both under the hood and with a different style gas pedal. Last edited by sixpac; 01-16-2006 at 12:29 AM. |

Re: Throttle Likage Ignorance
I found a guy at work who helped me get it lined out. Thanks for the offer though!
