i know some of you guys are running these on your trucks. i been thinking about it as well,but concerened about the support from the small mounting area bending my door on a bouncy 3/4 ton short box 4x4 do they seem prety stable or do they viberate and shake around a bit i dont want every car that comes up behind me at night to look like he has flashing lights

There's an arm that extends into the door. I cut mine off and just mounted to the sheetmetal with a backing plate and they were pretty stable. If you wanted to take the time, you could find a way to use that arm to add support.

i used a backing plate aswell, after trying to weld my own support arm to the existing one, and then finding out ford used an aluminum one so i didn't have any luck with that. i havent driven it yet so i can't tell you more than that.

Can you guys put some pics up? Ive been lookin at options for new mirrors but can't recall if I've ever seen f150 mirrors on our trucks. Thanks.

where on these does the brace go, i think they look great as is are these break away mirrors?

for mine instead of using the 2 screws to the door skin alone, i put a thick piece of steel behind the doorskin and ran the screws through that. it's like using a hidden washer. for the support arm, i cut if off.

I haven't had any problems with mine either. I even run with trailer mirrors slipped over mine the odd time.

They are breakaway. You the brace or arm sticks out.... How about a pic:

that is the brace that goes inside the door?then if used you mount it to anywhere you can that it won't interfear with window mech.?

i'll have to try to salvage a oair of them i need to figure out what i'm gonna use for mirrors before i start body work on my doors so i know if i need to weld up current holes thanks guys
