Re: Hard tonneau cover for Blazer?

You'll have to have one custom made or modify a pickup cover. Are you ditching the back seat?

Re: Hard tonneau cover for Blazer?

I have a 88 suburban seat so it folds down.I thought about the truck cover and shortening it to fit. I need a half-cab also.
Thanks,Kade

A flush mount would be the way to go, looks cleaner, just my $.02

I'm planning on custom-making one out of reinforced diamondplate (haven't decided on aluminum or stainless yet) in 3 sections with hinges, so that the tonneau can be flipped up and back in order to use the backseat, or flipped up and back (and slide forward) in case something needs to stick above the bedsides/tailgate in the back (like a lawnmower or something)

Re: Hard tonneau cover for Blazer?

Are the 88 up truck beds as wide as the 67-72? I have a cover for a 88 up at my other house. I need to measure the next time I am up there.

IMO that defeates the purpose of going topless, don't get me wrong it would look cool I guess, but it'd have to be done just right to look good and proper, I think I remeber seeing a blazer in a mag with one

Re: Hard tonneau cover for Blazer?

Id like to see one with the padded head rest just over seat hieght like the 62-63 Tbird Sport Roadster cover.

If you have the talent or can afford the talent then a rumble seat would be in order for the back seat.

My talents don't go that deep but I have a friend that could do it, but I can't afford his labor rates.

Re: Hard tonneau cover for Blazer?

I am getting a rolco dealer to custom make one of those roll shutters to fit my blazer. Vinyl covered metal slats that will roll up. Was going to just install it behind my back seat to make a trunk when I need one, but now I kind of like the fold down seat idea for this thread.

I was going to get it done as soon as I take the hardtop off in April.

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you looking at paying for a custom one?

Have not priced it out.
Just found a place that will make custom last week. Most just do stock installs and do not do custom.
Need to take the blazer in for measurents.
I will let you know after they give me a price.

Re: Hard tonneau cover for Blazer?

http://www.checkerpro.com/ I know these guys make a good looking cover and they will custom make one to your specs....I've only seen pics, never had one or seen one on a blazer or a truck up close.....just found them while surfing for accessories.
