new guy from oklahoma

Say guys, I have been on here since 01/29/06 and I think this is a great place for us old chevy builders.I could'nt believe the talent I've seen,I've built alot of trucks and dragcars and streeters but still learning.I know I can get alot of ideas from this site.I will do my best to help you guys too! I am just starting a new project a 68 s/w.I will post updates when possible.I do this in my spare time and I do things right no shortcuts here and it take's time.I take pride in my work and do it all myself. From painting to engines, trannys, suspensions.Well gotta go talk at you later.tcoop68

Hey from central Ark. Looks like you'll have a lot to offer for tech questions. I like the rolling cab stand in your bio picture. I want to build a double ended rotating device that can be used for a cab or bed to clean/blast/bodywork/paint with so I don't have to get help so often to move things around. As for doing it right, it's nice to see a lot of people doing very complete frame off restorations. Got to admire people for that, cause it is a lot of work (and $). It's also nice to have a decent daily driver or fixer upper to boot.

My uncle built one just like the one you was talking about to restore his 1955 chevy car. When he finished he told me to try it on one of my trucks I was restoring and it worked great.I will try to get a picture of it for you, that might help give you some ideas when you build one.Are you building anything now?Well I gotta go talk at ya later. tcoop68

I'm currently working on putting a 68 2wd body on a 79 3/4ton 4wd frame. (I'm sure some will cringe at that, but I couldn't find a decent factory swb frame or truck to start with for a reasonable price and this will give me a thicker frame, heavier axles, disc brakes,etc... plus it's a challenge to make that many modifications and have it still look good.) I am almost done changing the position of the body mounts and will soon be blasting/painting the frame and then working on the cab and bed, thus the need for moving large parts around more easily. I'd love to see any pictures of what your uncle built. thanks, prost68

Welcome from cold MN. I am from Tahlequah, but relocated here about 8 years ago. I miss the south and the lack of rust.
