Single barrel carb, manual choke.

man these things suck! when i putsh clutch in and have to stop using the brakes of course, I stall and have to get out and dump gas into the carb and restart the engine and keep on the thottle or it will stall, once the thing warms up its fine, but then you cant get out of 3rd at a stop light and cannot find 2nd or first at any time, PITA! Then i am in 2nd gear maxed out so i shift to third, and once i find it i am at a booging state and if i try to go back to second i will slow way down by the time i find it lol, and people are piling up behind me, and the throttle is to the floor. PITA!

My question is, has anyone else been through this? and what did you ever do?

Re: Single barrel carb, manual choke.

never mind, the stupid valve cover bolt which holds the bracket for the choke, was looser than a goose and would explain excessive oil on the rear part of the block.. anyway its fixed!
