t350 power wire?
Well I have a 72c10, ( originaly 250 I6) just finished installing a 350 from a 78 gmc with my original turbo 350 trans. after searching I found out that the black wire is suposed to be 12v for the lock up. but on my 250 the wire starts out a brown and white at the fuse block then goes to relay on the fire wall then splits into the black wire that goes to the trans a brown and a blue that went to the choke crap and to a temp switch. the 78 350 has a heat coil for the choke and has no place to plug this stuf into. does anyone know if I can just cut this stuff off or is any of it needed? Ifso how soes it need to be wired?

Re: t350 power wire?
if you are talking original 72 tranny... that isn't a lock up converter.

Re: t350 power wire?
Sounds like you have TCS (transmission controlled spark = emissions controls) wiring in your truck. Personally I would just yank it all out. The connector on your original transmission is the speed sensor that activates the TCS circuitry.

Re: t350 power wire?
That is a switch on the tranny that indicates high gear for the TCS (Transmission Controlled Spark) system. The relay on the firewall is also part of that system. If the TCS system is still connected, there will be a solenoid valve in the vacuum line between the carb and the distributor. I am assuming that your '78 engine does not have the solenoid valve, in which case you can ignore that switch on the tranny, and you can ignore or remove the relay and the rest of the wiring. TCS was an emissions system that only allowed vacuum advance to the distributor under certain conditions. There is also a temperature switch (usually on the passenger side head) that is part of this system.

Great, thanks alot guys that is what I needed to know. I will just remove it all and cap the wire coming from the fuse block.
