Steering box
Guys, I am going to replace my tired old steering box on my 69 and noticed that it had shims on the front upper and lower mounting locations between the box and the frame?? I checked my 71 Jimmy and my 72 Blazer and no shims, just mounted flat against the frame. Are these shims factory for some reason? Were they put there to accomodate slop at some point?
Just checking in and unless there was some reason to replace them in these locations when I get my new box, I intend on leaving them off. What do you think? JC |

Re: Steering box
It was a CST blazer, so I doubt with that package that it had manual steering. I guess I won't worry about it and just install the new one without shims and see if there are any issues.
