New forum member from Canada
Hey All,
I have just joined this board. My name is Jim, and I reside in Winnipeg Canada. I have just aquired a 1967 GMC 910. I have had 1970 C10. 1969 C10 and a 1972 C2500. The 67 is a project that I plan to have finished, or at least painted by end of summer. It has a straight 6 with 3 on the tree. I haven't entirely decided on the engine. For vintage engines I will only consider a 302 or 327, and any big block other than 454. Otherwise I will drop in a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel, or a modern 5.3. It will likely have a 4 or 5 speed. I want to make it an extended cab, but that will be later, maybe in a few years. I will put in AC, PW, PDL and full instrumentation. Everything else is up in the air at the moment. Jim

Re: New forum member from Canada
The only thing I have against a 454 is it's popularity. I want something more unique that a 350 or a 454.

Welcome from near Edmonton, Alberta!
I'd do the 5.3 swap myself! Lots more power, and milage similar to a 6.2!

Re: New forum member from Canada
Have you looked into what all is involved yet? If not, you may not quite be prepared for the costs associated, though those engines are right sweet when you get them running!

Re: New forum member from Canada
You'll need to have the harness re-worked, and both the PCM and the BCM flashed. If you're up to it, you can do the harness yourself, but it is a lot of work. The PCM / BCM you're basically forced to get done aftermarket.
Again, Ryan can do both, and also give you a much better understanding of what is involved than I can. To this point, I've stuck with the far simpler TBI and TPI systems, lol
