carb question
I have a 350 with a L-79 cam, 9.5 comp and headers. I bought a performer rpm and the recommended carb is a 750. Do you think that is too much carb or would an edelbrock 600 be better than the 750. And would you go with auto or manual choke.

You have a similar engine spec to mine. I had a 795cfm QJet, and replaced it with a 1406Edelbrock( which I drove for the first time last weekend). It has no hesitation, faster acceleration, and I believe that it feeds the engine more efficiently with the 600 , vs the 795. Just my opinion. Also, I had electric choke on the QJet as well as now with the Edelbrock.

thanks guys, it wont be a daily driver. My boss thought it would be ok as well he said it is better to have too much than not enough carb. My boos is into hi performance as well. I just wanted the opinions from the guys on here. Cause they are gods.Lol. My boss has a 69 nova that runs 13.6's at 113.He ithrowing a 500 caddy into his 32 ford pickup.

my theory would be to use the smaller carb because the size of the primarys and secondaries on a qjet are a night and day difference than on the edelbrock.
i just had to say it because i just went through the problem of too much carb on my 350 (9.5:1 comp, but not that big of a cam) with not enough carb it will only hurt high rpm, but i think you would be fine up to 6500rpm with the 600cfm edelbrock

Im running a 600 Edelbrock on stock big blocks/i have 750 for 454 larger, and healthy application.I found the 600 to respond alot faster, but get the manual choke they are more performane they run fatter.and theyre cheaper that the electric chokes.
