I'm having a hard time deciding what size tires to put on my stock 72 K20.
Currently it has 265/75/16s. I want something maybe a little taller, but definitely wider, the truck just looks wrong with skinny tires. I just got back from sears and had them order some BF Goodrich ATs, 275/70/16s that are a tad wider.

When I got home I went to the BFGoodrich website for the exact specs and they are actually a shorter tire, which means higher RPMs on the highway, which is something I don't need.

Any ideas out there?
What about 285/75/16 or even 305/70/16.

Anyone have any pics of something with a beefier tire? I don't want really tall ones, just something that makes the trook look more solid.

I'd go 285's. They are around 33 in. tall (give or take a little) and quite wide. They fit good on stock 67-72 K20's with no lift I have 7.00x17 tire, which are 33in. tall and 7 inches wide. Not cool at all.

BTW nice looking truck.

an inch isn't even going to be noticeable. You're talking 25 to 50 RPM increase.

33-12.50-16.5 tires on 16.5x9.75 wheels

Wow, that looks nice. Is there a small lift on that or is it stock?

I went with the 285/75/16s and I'm happy so far. I'll post pics tomorrow if it ever stops raining. They make highway driving more enjoyable too. next up...new rims.

Sorry, I should have posted... Front = 2" Skyjacker Softride; Rear = stock w/add-a-leaf.

It is a 4" lift. May swap it out for the Skyjacker 2" soft ride. I don't need any bigger tires.
