It's finally done!
After 19 months in the garage we finally finished our '65 swb.
We did a complete off chassis restoration, dropped a 468 BB and 700R4 tranny in, eaton posi unit with moser axles, 4 wheel disk brakes, power steering, 4/6 drop and underbed 23 gal. tank. We went with the old skool look. |

Very nice. It's a good thing we don't live in the same town, 'cause I'm hoping to have my '66 looking kinda like that someday

Thanks for all the good comments. I'll post more pics when I get the chance.
We weighed the truck the other evening....4015 pounds of American Steel l!!! We hope to make a couple of passes at the local drag strip this weekend to see what it'll do in the quarter. I'll keep you posted. |

Re: It's finally done!
We didn't get a chance to make a pass this weekend. It started raining about 10 minutes before the race was scheduled to start. I'll let ya'll know how it does.
Tires and wheels: 15x6.5 GM steel wheels front with 215 65 BFG Radial T/A front 15x8 GM steel wheels with 275 60 BFG Radial T/A rear. Paint is 3 coats of Dupont jet black with 3 coats of matte clear. The clear is not as flat as we wanted it but looks good. If I did it again I would go with a clear with flattener in it. I'll post more pics later. |
