another newbie...

Hi everyone. I guess the first thing is that I own a 1972 C-10 that is in the finishing stages of a frame-off restoration. If you don't count parts trucks, this is the third one I have owned (other 2 were actually 71's). They have all been 2wd longbed fleetsides...my personal favorite. The first one was my Dad's (hence the name) and it was my inheritence....I was 17 and on my own & didn't have the money to keep it up and when the rot in the frame caught up with the rot in the body, I had to say farewell. I kept it and drove it long after it was safe to drive. Then my husband and my brother (2 separate guys by the way) aquired a burn victim...we were in the midst of getting it together when I got pregnant with our second child and was put on bedrest. long story short...recycled antifreeze & a popped freezeplug led to the demise of that truck. We had to sell it. I cried. (but the guy still owns it and is doing everything we wanted to do. I see it at least once a week)
Then 5 years later we got the one I have now. A friend of my father in law had the truck, and when he died, we bought it from his daughter. She was happy to see it go to someone who would appreciate it as much as her dad did.
And I can say that this one isn't going anywhere!!!
Thanks for letting me introduce myself. There are some absolutely gorgeous trucks on here! I can't wait to share the finished product when ours is complete!

Here is one from a week or so ago. It now has the hood back on it, and the bed is back off....we found one in better shape and it is on it's way to the paint shop...(we actually got it from a site member) We had hoped to have it road worthy by the end of this month, but my husband got sent to Conn. for a week....(of course it will never be finished......there will always be something to do)

Yep, those are SS wheels....my husband had a parts car for his and they fit.....looked better than what was on it when we got it, so they stayed.
