Question on blazer tank install

Parted out a 90 suburban and pulled the tank out of the rear between the rails had been a tbi setup can this be grafted into a 67-72 truck without too much of a head ache or is just going with another tank a better plan new to this and thought I would ask the pro's thanks for looking at this post Mike

I too, would like to find a baffled F.I. fuel tank that would fit nicely into a 67-72 Blazer. I have a 1990 350 looking for home and I thought it might end up in my 72. I do not think however the Suburban tank will fit easily.

The 72 Blazer tanks are rectangular
Capacity: 21 gallon Dimensions (my measurements): 28-3/4 wide (side to side) X 18-3/4 long (front to rear) X 14 inches high Depth of bottom half - 7

Apparently the newer blazer tanks are baffled and the same size as the Suburban but not as deep:

If you are doing a FI swap and just want the tank for the baffling, the other option is to install an in tank fuel pump complete with its own baffle. www.tanksinc.com makes them. That's what I used on mine. The only problem I had to fix was that the upright was a bit too short and I had to put a short extension on it. Otherwise..works great.

Thanks for the replies guys I am still in the figuring stage and will find something that will work just want a clean installation and do not want a cell in the bed just not my thing later Mike

I used a tank from a late 90's Tahoe when I did my TPI swap. It is baffled and had the high pressure internal fuel pump for the Vortec engine. All I had to do was swap out the fuel pump for the TPI application.

I have also looked at doing this and what I found was that I would have had to cut the rear frame support out and weld in a new support that had a mounting flange 180* routated compared to the factory support. The reason was becasue the tank would be too close to the rear diff. Also the next cross support would also have to be moved. It would have been easy for me because I could have made it fit with some fabrication but decided not to becasue of the time involved. For sure without modifing the rear cross support the tank is too long it needs to be mounted further back then the factory cross support would allow. As far as the gas fill location being different I felt that it was in a good center point in the tank that the tank could be turned around easily.
