Need help identifying frame year
I picked up an abandoned project (rolling frame) for the front xmember. The previous owner did not know what year it is, he was told it was somewhere in the 70's that is 73+. Where are the frame numbers located. I would like to identify the exact year.

Re: Need help identifying frame year
Driver's side frame rail, near engine mount holes.
Starts with year numeral and factory letter: "8Fxxx123" For a '68 Fremont plant product. The CS14-- part is left off, since a frame could wind up with any options before it's built.

Re: Need help identifying frame year
Thanks for the info. I have looked all over this area and still can not find any numbers. I plan to try to remove some of the rust in this area and try again.

Yeah, a wire brush should remove the gunk....that's what we used on mine.
