Air compressor vers compressed air tank
Whats better and why ? Should a person use a in line air compressor/tank to fill his air bags or use a pre-filled high-pres. comp. air tank,to fill the bags.

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank
if you are referring to co2 or nitrous setups they use those cause they are way faster than a compressor with an air tank.

I totally understand using nitrogen ... it's cheap ... you can get it in BIG bottles ... it's clean ... and it's inert. Back in the kart racing days, we used it for inflating tires and running air tools. But N2O ... that's just plain stupid. Last edited by Shane; 08-17-2006 at 05:16 PM. |

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank
Both.....A lot of guys that are running compressed gas systems also have an onboard compressor with a pressure switch. That way, when your bottle runs out of gas... the compressor will kick on to get you home

yes...... I am sure he was refering to nitrogen.... not "nozzz" I hate it when they call it that but it sticks on the brain like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth... speaking of, have you ever given a dog peanut butter....

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank
I know Tony ... I cringe everytime I hear that $hit too ... these ricer numb nutz don't know the difference between the gas (N20) and the company (NOS) that sells the systems. It's one in the same to them ...
P.S. My Jack Russell LOVES peanut butter ... and it also is one helluva humorous time waster. Last edited by Shane; 08-17-2006 at 05:29 PM. |

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank
I have a nitrogen tank and two compressors for backup. I love the nitrogen, its addicting. Just make sure you run a check valve on the nitrogen bottle so when the compressors kick on, it doesnt fill up the nitrogen tank also.

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank
i run them both i run my bottle at 120 psi and let the comp take it up to 180 so that i always have air at a hit of the switch even thought the comp doesnt have to work that hard to go from 0psi-180 psi but thats why i love bottles

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank
Helium is no "faster" than any other compressed gas. The "speed" of a compressed "air" system is dictacted by gas pressures and the size of the passages (tubing, fittings, etc.).
The medium itself (nitrogen, helium, ambient air, etc) has nothing at all to do with the "speed" of the system. P.S. How's that for "science" Kenneth? |
