hooker comps fit
for you guys trying to decide on headers for lowered trucks the hooker competion long tubes appear to be a good fit. installed the collectors hang about 1/2 inch below the crossmember. the p/s fit perfect with plenty of clearance. the d/s requires moving the brake lines slightly and also one primary tube touches the frame rail. i am not sure if this is a wore motor mount or not. mounts appear good, so i will probley put a small notch in frame. i am very pleased with the fit in the 68 truck with clutch and column linkage. only problem was i forgot to order alternator bracket. i spent way to much time fabbing one.

Good to know.This should be saved with info on other header fitment.I just got Headman Elites and will be reporting my results on fitment on a 4spd manual 4wd.

These fit great, the 67-8 have a wider upper frame rail, so trimming is necessary. I had the same set, and a little trim here and there and it was money!! I had to go through like 3 sets to find a set that fit, but I like Hookers even though I own Hedmans as well. I have not tried the elites, but I am pickey, I want the tubes to match the exhaust ports, so square to square, and on my BBC the hedmans did not match and the hookers did, it all lends itself to flow.

part number thru summit is HOK-2452-1HKR hooker competion full length ceramic coated 1 5/8 primary, 2 1/2 collector. i did a lot of searching on this board before coming to this conclusion. i have seen a lot of questions asked about headers, sizes, brands, fits, lowering, long vs short. so this is a good all purpose header in my opinon. they may be pricey but worth the ease of installation. the only drawback was how much they want for smaal parts like brackets and collector rings. hope this helps somebody

Those look o hang about the same as my existing setup. I guess I will need to go with a short tube or something unless i am missing something.

I ran the hookers on minel, and it was just about imposable to bump them on the ground. My springs would go into coil bind and the bump stops would hit. This was on a SWB GMC with 500K miles on the front springs (figure about a 2 inch drop). They fit great and are well built...hence why i always recomend them.

Ive got chevelle comps on my big block & they fit great. I really like how they tuck in the frame rails. Highly recommended...
