Wiring harness detail help needed..
OK..
I'm to the point of reinstalling the wiring back in the truck.. Sneak peek I unfortunately (in my old age) can't remember and didn't seem to take any pictures of how the rear harness is routed down the frame It looks pretty simple but I want to make sure it's "correct" and doesn't look out of place. Anyone have any info or pics of how it lays down the frame and across the tailpanel? Manuals and such don't show it very well. Much appreciated... -John

John, it usually just runs down the left framerail (I think it's left) and across the rear frame crossmember. I don't think it was real scientific on these old trucks. That came much later.

Jonboy is correct. The wires are secured to the side of the frame rail with plastic push-in connectors (you will see the holes in your frame). Be sure you have your wires enclosed in some black split loom.
Love the truck by the way!!

Re: Wiring harness detail help needed..
I actually have all of the factory harness and loom cleaned up and still in perfect condition. What I was looking for was any detail to the routing of the wire from the firewall to back. (over/under certain obstacles while running through the frame.) There seems to be an awful lot of extra length to it? I pulled it through where I thought it should run but still seem to have quite a bit of extra length? I just don't want it to look like some meathead installed it. Shortening the harness is obviously not an option because cutting it would not be the best of choices.. I guess I'll just wing it. Usually works good for me
***Also*** Anyone know where I can get the factory style connectors for the tail lights from the harness to the light without buying the lights? The pigtail that goes formt he bed side to the light itself? I don't want to butched the factory set I have. I'm pluggin in some "different" lights. TBA Thanks for the input fellers.. as always, much appreciated. And thanks for the comments.. They keep me going on this project.

I would also like to have some of the pigtails. I haven't seen them anywhere without the lights too.
