Question Can I get a little offset help?

I've got some rims(20x8.5) picked out but the only offset they have them in is
+10mm. They'll go on my '71 1/2 ton. It's got a 4/6 drop(don't know if that matters). The seller says it will fit just fine but I don't want to have to pay shipping to send them back if they don't fit. Just trying to do some double checking. Thanks.

Re: Can I get a little offset help?

I have a 72 SWB 1/2 Ton also, with 20x8.5 Bonspeeds in front and 20x10 in the rear. I don't know how to convert 10mm offset, but I have 5in backspacing on the fronts and 5.5in BS on the rear, but with a 4.5/5 in drop instead of the 4/6. I thought it would rub or have turning interference, but there is NONE WHATSOEVER!!! I can take the wheel from turn to turn with no clearance issues. So if 10mm equates to 5in BS, then you should be good to go!!

10mm?If that's the right number then it's less than a 1/2" bs.there's 25.4mm to the inch.

Re: Can I get a little offset help?

Well it sounds like NovaJess has the experience that says yes it will work. I think +10mm offset on a 8.5" wheel equates to 4.5" BS...I think. Im facing the same hurdle. Let us know what you do and how it works.

Nova, any chance we can get a pic of your clearance with an on the ground looking up shot?

Re: Can I get a little offset help?

Novajess1972,

Could you post some pictures of your truck with the tire and wheel combination you mentioned? I am getting ready to order my wheels.

Thanks!

Re: Can I get a little offset help?

Here are all the pics that I have here at work. Plus it will only allow 5 pics on the site. I can try to take more maybe on the weekend. Hope this helps for now, though. You can email me at jwilliams1@loomisfargo.com if you have any other questions.

Re: Can I get a little offset help?

they will work, but the rear will be tucked way inward, i have the exact same wheels and drop. i used 2" wheel spacers on the rear to bring them back out to match the fronts . i have about a 5/7 drop.........rat
