steering wheel removal answer or diagram
I have a later model tilt steering wheel and the turn signal arm became loose and eventually came out. I half attempted to remove the steering wheel but its more than just a bid nut and three little screws. Does anyone have a posted diagram or and easy 123 step chart? does it require a gear type puller or is there a hiding snap ring?

You need a steering wheel puller. They are cheap, or, you could rent one from one of the parts store chains

you may have to get a locking plate remover also, not sure if only columns with keys have that or not.Does your steering wheel lock?

Re: steering wheel removal answer or diagram
lock plate depreso will not be needed, that is only for collumns that lock when you turn them off.
You can get away with hammers on non tilt columns... but don't try it on a tilt. I have one here that i ruined that way becouse I was too impatient to go and get my wheel remover. |

Re: steering wheel removal answer or diagram
Take the nut loose on the column, plant your feet on the floor, pull pressure up on 1 side of the wheel, & YANK the other side. this will take the wheel off......but DO NOT take the nut all the way off, or you will be wearing that steer wheel around your ears (dont ask ) L
