Bench Seat Question
I've ripped apart my factory bench seat and ordered new foam. It has the zig zag springs at the bottom. Other than being broke which they are not, how do I tell if they are ok? When driving I sank down pretty far. Had to throw a pillow under me to sit right. Has anyone put a piece of plywood or something between the springs and foam to stiffen it up a bit? Or do you think new foam will take care of it? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.....

Re: Bench Seat Question
This is probably one of those you will have to make an educated guess. Before and after the foam is removed compare the drivers side to the middle or pass side. I imagine they weaken over time and unless they are broken it wiill be hard to judge but if it was pretty squishy before and the pad was so-so then figure the the springs are shot on the drivers side

Yea that's kinda what I was asking. Other then being broken what were other signs that the springs were bad? Loose? a couple are a little longer but not much. Guess I should just say hell with it and change them all.

Re: Bench Seat Question
I'm also interested in parts or methods to diagnos and repair defective springs. I too have a sagging seat on drivers side. I proped up springs with a 1x4 piece of wood. Wish there was parts to rebuild the springs to remove the sagging issue.
I'm also interested in parts or methods to diagnos and repair defective springs. So another question could you remove the springs and replace that with the solid foam lower that I've seen at LMC truck??
