GMC vs Chevy
I was wondering how compatible GMC and Chevy 67-72 trucks were. I might get a 67 gmc and I have a 69 chevy. Both are lwb and I was hoping I might be able to interchange some parts to get a whole truck. I primarily need a cab for my 69, would the 67 gmc cab work for the chevy? What other problems might occur in combining two of these trucks?

Re: GMC vs Chevy
Everything is the same from the fenders back. To change grills you need to swap core supports. Someone else chime in if I am wrong about the grill and core support.

Re: GMC vs Chevy
Rear suspension might be different.....it may be leaf springs. I think the fenders/ hood/ core support/ headlights wiring might be different also.
Other than that......all should be the same |

Re: GMC vs Chevy
if a good Chevy support is not attainable you can just change the headlight buckets that are spot welded to the front.it may be a lot of work and end up with lights that dont fit correctly in the grill.

Re: GMC vs Chevy
The parking brake location on the 67 GMC is different than your 69 Chev. but that's not a problem if the GMC cab is in good shape.

Thanks guys. The deal might have fallen through. I will keep my eyes out though I really need a different truck.

Re: GMC vs Chevy
Front clip is really the only major difference between chevy/gmc and the different yrs.
